Social Determinants of Health
Presented by Daniel Lewis, MPA
This is a 1.5 hour training session that will be hosted on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
Session Times: 10:00am-11:30am EST
The primary goal of this training is to reinforce existing skills and competencies so that employees become more productive and resourceful. The social determinants of health (SDH) are conditions in which we are born, live, learn, play and age exercise a powerful influence on the health of individuals and communities. By critically examining the role of neighborhood conditions, education, income/wealth, and the socio-political climate, this training will strengthen participants’ understanding of the social determinants of health and their role in shaping health outcomes of diverse populations. This training will inform the development of new programs and partnerships that ultimately improve health outcomes, reduce recidivism, and health care spending.
