Washina X. Ford, MM, MCRP

Washina Ford is the Vice President of Community Engagement for Beacon Communities LLC where she manages the implementation of resident service program delivery throughout New England, Virgina, and Maryland. Washina has dedicated her career to the advancement and empowerment of underserved communities through her commitment to community development, resident empowerment and engagement.

She has extensive experience managing the implementation of comprehensive and data driven resident service programs in multi-family, senior, and non-elderly disabled (NEDs) mixed-income communities.

- Development of a Community Engagement Safety Pilot in Durham, NC that led to a reduction in youth related incidents through the empowerment of resident leadership and agency, enhanced programming and outreach, and the leverage of stakeholder resources.

- Secured capital grant funding and the partnership of University of Maryland Medical Systems to support the building of a health and wellness clinic within a Senior and NEDs community in Baltimore, MD.

- Development of a Resident-Centered Occupied Rehabilitation Relocation Model in Baltimore, MD, that applied trauma-informed approaches to prioritize resident experience and create streamlined procedures and communication standards to inform optimal move logistics.

Washina is a proud native of the westside of Chicago, IL. Washina holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Illinois, master’s in business management from the University of Phoenix, and a master’s in city and regional planning from Morgan State University. Washina serves as the Board Treasurer for Making Change Inc., a non-profit that provides financial literacy and housing counseling. She also serves on the board of The Connect 757, an organization founded to create platforms for local black professionals to promote diversity through social connections and reduce barriers to access due to race. Washina is an accomplished executive business leader, community developer, motivational speaker, trainer, and most importantly a partner to any community she serves.
